The Flash - Casting News/Costume First Look

It might be a few more months before the CW air upcoming Arrow spin-off The Flash (assuming it's picked up for a series) but already various bits of news are coming in and it's looking good so far.

Yesterday the first picture of Grant Gustin's Barry Allen in his Flash costume was release and well, it looks bloody fantastic. I've read some people compare it to Daredevil's costume and while I certainly see the similar, I am definitely impressed by the look of this outfit. Hopefully we'll see more pictures of the costume in full pretty soon as well.

Joining Gustin in the cast for the series will be Danielle Panabaker (No Ordinary Family) as Caitlin Snow, Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order) as Detective West, Candice Patton (The Game) as Iris West as well as Tom Cavanagh (Ed) as Harrison Wells and Rick Cosnett (The Neighbour) as Eddie Thawne, all of whom will play an active role as Barry becomes the Flash in Central City.

Also appearing in the pilot episode will be the original Barry Allen himself, John Wesley Shipp (Dawson's Creek). Shipp's role in this version of The Flash has yet to be disclosed but it will be one that will get expanded should this pilot be picked up for a series as well. Personally, I'll be extremely disappointed if it's not. It's got more of a chance of success than the upcoming Supernatural spin-off and Gustin's Allen character was well received upon his Arrow appearances earlier in the season. Go on, CW, you know you want to.
